Job Description

Summary

Join our digital marketing agency as a Digital Marketing Manager overseeing both paid advertising and SEO programs for multiple clients. This is a senior, client-facing role that requires full ownership of both channels: you will manage campaigns and SEO programs independently, serve as the strategic account lead for your clients, and bring executive-level experience to client relationships and channel strategy. You will collaborate with our marketing team while driving measurable ROI across paid and organic search.

Deliverables

Paid Campaign Management

  • Plan, launch, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and other relevant platforms
  • Take full ownership of campaign performance and results from strategy through execution
  • Manage multiple client ad accounts simultaneously with varying budgets and objectives
  • Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and competitive analysis
  • Design and execute comprehensive A/B testing strategies for ad copy, creatives, landing pages, and audiences to continuously improve performance
  • Monitor campaign performance daily and make data-driven optimizations
  • Manage ad budgets efficiently to maximize ROI for clients

SEO Program Management

  • Own full SEO programs for client accounts, covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and link building
  • Conduct site audits and work with development teams on site speed, Core Web Vitals, crawlability, indexing, and structured data
  • Perform keyword research, search intent analysis, and competitive analysis to direct content roadmaps
  • Coordinate with content and design teams on content production and optimization
  • Monitor rankings, organic traffic, and site health, and make data-driven improvements
  • Stay current on algorithm updates and AI-driven search changes, including visibility in AI search and answer engines

Integrated Search Strategy

  • Coordinate paid and organic as one search strategy per client
  • Use paid campaign data to inform content priorities and keyword targeting
  • Build organic strength to reduce paid dependency over time, and allocate budget across channels based on blended return
  • Proactively research and recommend new channels, platforms, and media opportunities to expand client reach
  • Lead discussions with clients and the team about emerging search channels and innovative approaches
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement, and recommend budget adjustments based on performance data

Account Management and Client Strategy

  • Serve as the strategic point of contact for assigned client accounts
  • Develop paid and organic strategies aligned with each client's business goals
  • Lead client calls on strategy, performance, and results
  • Manage client expectations, timelines, and budgets
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and present them to clients and internal stakeholders

Reporting and Communication

  • Create clear, actionable monthly performance reports covering both paid and organic channels
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on campaign data, search trends, and market insights
  • Track and report on key metrics: CPA, ROAS, CTR, conversion rates, organic traffic, rankings, and revenue attribution
  • Communicate performance, insights, and recommendations directly to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Available during 9am–5pm Central Time with at least 4–6 hours presence for team collaboration

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads required) and SEO programs, with demonstrated results in both channels
  • Executive or senior-level experience leading client accounts and owning strategy, not just execution
  • Proven account management skills: running client relationships, setting expectations, and presenting strategy and results directly to decision makers
  • Proven track record of managing $10K+ monthly ad budgets
  • Experience working in an agency environment managing multiple client accounts
  • Google Ads certification (required)
  • Meta Blueprint certification (preferred)
  • Strong technical SEO skills: site audits, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and crawl management
  • Demonstrated experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical significance analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Screaming Frog
  • Experience with reporting tools (Looker Studio or similar)
  • Ability to take full ownership of accounts with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • LinkedIn Ads experience
  • Microsoft Ads (Bing) experience
  • Local SEO experience
  • E-commerce experience across paid and organic (Shopify, WooCommerce)
  • Experience with landing page optimization and CRO
  • Digital PR and link outreach experience
  • AI search optimization experience
  • Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite basics)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (particularly lead tracking and attribution)
  • Local service business marketing experience
  • Experience with JIRA or project management tools

Work Details

  • Full-time
  • Flexible schedule with required presence during Central Time business hours
  • Remote position
  • Monthly retainer with potential for growth to full-time
  • Opportunity to take on additional client accounts as we grow

What We're Looking For

Someone who can hit the ground running, take full ownership of client search programs across paid and organic, and free up our team to focus on strategic growth initiatives. You should bring executive presence to client relationships: leading strategy conversations, setting expectations, and presenting results directly to decision makers. We need someone who thinks like an owner and sees paid and organic as one system rather than two silos, proactively identifying opportunities, recommending new approaches, and driving results without constant oversight.
