Job Description:

This position is hands on in all aspects of winemaking from the field to bottle. We are looking for a self-motivated person to continue our high-quality wine production. You will report directly to the owner.

Grovedale Winery is a growing 5000+ case winery located on our 100 acre farm in the Endless Mountains of PA. We are one of the most awarded wineries on the east coast and dedicated to high-quality viticulture and winemaking.

Responsibilities:

Vineyard - 30%
- Overseeing the 8 acres of estate vineyards and working with local growers, to ensure optimum grape quality and helping as time allows
- Grape maturity sampling
- Scheduling harvest dates

Cellar/Winemaking - 70%
Grape to bottle, including but not limited to;
- Processing grapes upon receival
- Tank and ferment management
- Lab analysis in our in-house lab
- Barrel sampling
- Racking, filling and stacking barrels
- Cleaning and sanitation
- Tasting/Blending
- Competitive Sets
- Filtering
- Bottle prep and bottling
- Daily record keeping
- Inventory management for monthly reporting
- Oversee cellar staff tasking and personnel
- Special Projects

Qualifications:
•  BS in Enology/Fermentation Science or Winemaking preferred or relevant experience
•  3+ or more years of winemaking experience plus hands on experience
•  Lab experience (pH, TA, SO2, Malic Acid)
•  Strong organizational skills
•  Excellent computer skills
•  Possess excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
•  Strong Forklift skills
•  Perform physically strenuous tasks including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs)
•  Ability to work long hours and flexible days during harvest period
